CT of Acute Abdomen

Special Edition of Obstruction1 EXPERT COURSE [ObE Case 2]

Case. ObE 2 (Plain CT, 10mm slice):A 71-year-old male without significant past history. He suddenly developed lower abdominal pain two days ago, and was taken to the hospital on the previous day. Temperature: 37.5 degrees Celsius. Abdominal examination showed mild tenderness over lower abdomen. On the next day, noncontrast CT scan was obtained because abdominal pain increased in intensity. Temperature: 38.9 degrees Celsius, lower abdomen showed tenderness, rebound tenderness and muscle guarding.
