Epigastric Pain series 4 RESIDENT COURSE [ER Case 17]

ER Case 17 (Plain CT, 10mm slice): A 48-year-old male with alcoholism, has drunk only liquor without decent meals for approximately two weeks. Epigastric pain and diarrhea developed on the previous day. Abdominal pain increased at midnight, and followed by several episodes of melena. Body temperature: 38.1 degrees Celsius, Blood pressure: 70/40mmHg, pulse: 105/minute. Abdomen was distended, and there were generalized tenderness, rebound tenderness and muscle guarding, and bowel sound was not audible. Fig.A is abdominal plain film in left lateral decubitus position.
