Epigastric Pain series 5 RESIDENT COURSE [ER Case 24]

ER Case 24 (10mm slice): A 23-year-old male. He had splenectomy due to traumatic splenic rupture at age of 17 years. There have been two episodes of intestinal obstructions since then. The each episode was treated successfully under conservative management. Epigastric pain and nausea developed suddenly after lunch and he presented to ER several hours later because pain gradually increased in intensity. Temperature: 36.2Ž. There was tenderness in entire abdomen, but without rebound tenderness or muscle guarding.
